The 23-year-old spent the first half of this season on loan at Wrexham, featuring heavily under Sam Ricketts.

A powerful, box-to-box midfielder, Walker made over 100 appearances for Hartlepool United in League Two.

Following their relegation from the Football League, Walker joined Crewe on a two-year deal, but has since only made 28 league appearances for the Railwaymen.

Walker also made a trial appearance for Wolves against Aston Villa back 2016.

The news comes on the same day as Town confirmed that Dave Edwards would be making his return to the Meadow, 12 years on from his last appearance for the club.
