Shrewsbury Town boss Gary Peters believes tomorrow's visitors Peterborough United are "shopping in a different store" when it comes to plotting a route out of League Two.
Peterborough, backed by millionaire businessman Darragh MacAnthony, have spent hundreds of thousands on new signings in recent months, but have struggled to muscle in on the race for the play-offs.
They arrive at Gay Meadow tomorrow evening three points ahead of Town in ninth place, but having played four games more.
And Peters insists his squad is just as strong as Posh boss Darren Ferguson's - despite having been assembled at a fraction of the cost.
"They've spent all their money so far on non-League players and they've still got to find their feet yet," he said.
"They're well-rated players but they're too expensive for us and I have to shop in a different shop.
"If you want to go and get the top players in the Conference then you have to spend a fortune on them because those clubs may only have a couple of good players.
"We can't spend that sort of money, but I can get better players for nothing than they are buying for a quarter-of-a-million by waiting until the end of the season.
"We shop shrewdly - we don't go out and spend our money at Harrods when there's not a sale on."
And Peters also believes that there is a real gamble in looking to the non-League pyramid for signings.
"It doesn't always work," he added. "We took Gavin Cowan out of non-League and we didn't think he could adapt to professional football so we had to let him go."
Meanwhile, reports claim the Football League board will tomorrow discuss the possibility of scrapping draws and deciding games by penalty shoot-outs.
However, no vote will be taken at the meeting and a detailed proposal will only be formed if there is significant support shown.
Club chairmen and chief executives will discuss the issue, which was initially raised in the League's fans survey recently, before any further action is possible.
The idea proposes penalties if the match is drawn, with the winner of the shoot-out earning two points and the loser one.
Peters today refused to comment on the issue, adding: "I'll let everyone else worry about it and do their talking - I'll just keep concentrating on my job at Shrewsbury Town."
