Okay Yokuslu West Brom future latest amid ongoing Turkey interest
Midfielder Okay Yokuslu’s Albion future is uncertain following strong interest from his homeland in Turkey.

The Turkey international, 30, who was part of his country’s recent European Championship quarter-final run, is wanted by both Besiktas and former club Trabzonspor.
Yokuslu is not expected back at The Hawthorns until later this month but, with just one year remaining on his contract, official negotiations could start now the midfielder’s international exploits have ended.
The midfielder joined on a permanent deal via a free transfer under Steve Bruce in 2022. He is one of the club’s biggest earners and has just 12 months to run on that deal. Albion are currently trying to balance the books to be in line with financial fair play concerns.
Yokuslu is a sale seen as potentially helpful in that regard. It is understood a transfer fee for his services and savings on his wages could help head coach Carlos Corberan recruit at least two, potentially three, new faces.
It is believed any suggestion of a £3.5million-£4million valuation is wide of the mark and a fee reported in Turkey around half that scope would be more in line with expectation of a 30-year-old entering the final year of his deal.
The Turk is a popular member of the squad with players and fans. He has, at times, been substituted out of fixtures and not completed full 90 minutes under Corberan. He made 48 appearances last term.
Corberan has already bolstered his squad with a new midfield recruit, Ousmane Diakite, 23, from TSV Hartberg. Albion owner Shilen Patel confirmed the club’s approach to this window as “resourceful” and “open-minded”, adding an “opportunity to build a foundational sporting philosophy and practices for long-term success” with a suggestion to add younger players, with more of a resale value, to the squad.
Turkey were eliminated from the Euros at the last-eight stage on Saturday night by the Netherlands, who will meet England in Wednesday’s semi-final.
