AFC Telford United have already smashed last year's record season ticket sales - and chairman Lee Carter believes they could crash through the 700 barrier at their open day tomorrow. The club sold 527 last season, but the tally for the 2007/8 campaign stood at 534 this morning, with 162 season ticket holders still to renew. With the annual open day traditionally proving to be the busiest day for sales, Carter is confident that numbers will now go through the roof.

"It's the last day of the early bird scheme tomorrow, so anyone who wants to get a discount, or claim a seat which they had reserved last year needs to come along and purchase," said Carter.
"We've beaten last year's tally already, and I really think we're going to be close to 700 season ticket holders this time, which is a massive cash boost for the football club.
"We predicted there would be an increase in season ticket holders because of the rise in matchday prices, but we didn't expect this much interest and we only budgeted for selling the same amount as last year.
"In the past we have only sold 300 to 350 coming up to the open day so the response has been fantastic.
"Hopefully we will get to that 700 figure, and I don't think there are too many non-League clubs who could say that."
The open day runs from 10am until 2pm, with the players turning up at 1pm after a training session on the Wrekin.
Assistant manager Larry Chambers will join Carter for a question-and-answer session in the Learning Centre at the New Bucks Head, while players will be available to sign autographs.
Season tickets are priced at £170 for the seats and £165 for the stand, a saving of £20 and £10 respectively on prices from Monday onwards.
