Boundford can't stop scoring as Knighton close gap at the top

Knighton Town closed the gap on Llanuwchllyn at the top of the Ardal North East League table - as Luke Boundford continued his superb recent goalscoring form.

With the leaders dropping points - Knighton made no mistake in making ground on the top side with a 3-1 victory at Cefn Albion.

They were behind though after seven minutes as Thomas Broadhurst put the Wrexham side ahead - before Adam Worton set up Boundford just four minutes later to level things up.

It stayed that way until early in the second half when this time Kieran Dovey was the provider for Boundford who found the net to edge his side ahead.

And three minutes from the end of normal time the duo combined again with the former Newtown striker bagging his hat-trick to take his league goal tally to double figures, and 14 in all competitions.

Elsewhere, Llandrindod Wells held the leaders Llanuwchllyn to a 1-1 draw.

Jack Evans' first half penalty had given the Spamen the lead at the break - before Dale Davies earned a point for the home side in the second period.

Builth Wells picked up just their third win of the season - as they put three goals without reply past bottom side Lex XI.

All the goals came in the space of eight second half minutes just past the hour mark.

Harry Edwards kicked it off before further goals from Chris Roff and Chris Bartholomew.

Kerry ended a tough run of results as they beat Corwen 3-2.

Henry Evans put the North Wales visitors into an early lead - before they were two down when George Clarke turned through his own net.

Barry Bellis reduced the arrears four minutes later and it stayed that way until the latter part of the game.

And it was striker Luke Mumford who was the hero - as he equalised in the final minute of normal time before netting a dramatic winner six minutes into stoppage time.

Llanfair United are now three without a win as they were beaten 4-1 at home to Bow Street.

Tomos Jones had pulled one back for the home side in first half stoppage time - after they had gone two down.

But a Steff Davies strike and a Jack Jones own goal completed a comfortable win for the Ceredigion outfit.

Llanrhaeadr's sensational recent form continued as they won for the fourth game in a row - thanks to a comfortable 3-0 win over Llangollen Town.

Billy Clarke took just 12 minutes to put the visitors in front, and it stayed that way until just after the hour mark.

First Will Howard made it two before Clarke bagged his second of the afternoon to seal the victory.

Elsewhere, Iuean Price scored in Radnor Valley's 1-1 draw at Rhos Aelwyd.
