Kevin Wilkin working hard for Telford
AFC Telford United manager Kevin Wilkin has revealed that he hopes he will have two more additions to his squad by the end of the week.

The Bucks have 13 first-team players signed up ahead of the 2024/25 Southern Central Premier season, with experienced midfielder Byron Moore the latest to commit his future to the club.
And after the squad reported for their first training session back on Tuesday evening, Wilkin is hopeful that further strengthening will take place shortly.
“There are a few more players that should be announced in the next few days I would like to think,” the Bucks boss said. “Numbers-wise, I think we should be at 14, possibly 15 by the end of the week.” He added: “If there was a bottomless pit of money there clearly my job would become a lot easier, but as it is I am having to wheel and deal a little bit to try and pull together deals that work for the players and our club.”
Telford operated with a core first-team squad of 16 players last season, and Wilkin, who kept a similarly small squad throughout his successful spell as Brackley Town manager, is happy to keep a small, closely-knit group together. “I don’t think we need to be excessive with numbers,” he explained. “With whom we have signed to us already we could put out a very competitive side, but clearly we need to bulk out the squad.”
Wilkin added: “There will be injuries and maybe some suspensions, so you have to work hard to make sure we cover all bases with the recruitment and work hard in pre-season to try and make sure we don’t suffer too much with injuries.
“I’ve got an idea in my head of where I’d like us to be, and you can make a rod for your own back if you’ve got a squad of 20 high-quality players.”
