AFC Telford United have allowed player-coach Andy Todd to leave on the same day Ian Sharps was appointed the new club captain.

The midfielder, one of manager Steve Kittrick's assistants alongside Andy Pryce, has made the move to Conference North side Hednesford Town.

Todd was in caretaker charge with Pryce after Liam Watson was sacked in December, but has fallen down the playing pecking order since Sean Clancy's return to fitness.

Managing director Lee Carter said: "Andy has been a great servant to the club. We would like to thank him for his efforts and his big contribution.

"We wish him all the very best in the next chapter of his career."

Outcast Sean Cooke has also been joined on the transfer list by goalkeeper Jonathan Hedge, Charlie Barnett, Kristian Platt and Andy Owens.

Defender Rod McDonald, who has only just recovered from a knee injury, has also been made available for loan to get him up to match fitness.

Cooke has been told by Kittrick he will never play for the club again, after refusing to warm up in last weekend's 3-3 draw away to Eastleigh.

Hedge has become No 2 to Freddy Hall, while Owens has been exiled for a second time. Barnett and Platt have only figured sporadically.
