Wolves agreed a £19.5million deal with Spanish top flight side Celta Vigo over the weekend, with Lopez set to become Wolves' first signing of the summer.

Lopez will undergo his Wolves medical on Wednesday ahead of the move being announced on a permanent deal.

The 21-year-old is coming in to bolster Vitor Pereira's attacking options for the 2025/26 campaign after Pablo Sarabia and Matheus Cunha both left the club.

However, it is understood Wolves do not consider Lopez as a direct replacement for Cunha, who made a £62.5million switch to Manchester United.

The futures of Hwang Hee-chan and Goncalo Guedes remain uncertain and Wolves are still targeting attacking reinforcements this summer.

Lopez is a product of Celta Vigo's academy and had his breakthrough season in La Liga last campaign, with two goals in 17 league appearances and four goals in 20 matches in all competitions.

He is following in the footsteps of former Celta Vigo team-mate Jorgen Strand Larsen, who made a loan move to Wolves last summer with the obligation to buy when he made a certain number of appearances.

That deal was quickly triggered and Larsen enjoyed a successful campaign, scoring 14 Premier League goals.

Lopez and Larsen were pictured together on holiday at the weekend as news of Wolves' interest in the Spaniard was first made public.

Left-footed Lopez has often been used on the right or as a number 10 and would fit into the narrow number 10s that Pereira plays in his 5-2-3 system.

He is a client of agent Jorge Mendes and Gestifute, who Wolves have had a long-standing relationship with.

With one signing set to get over the line, Wolves are also likely to move on a number of other positions.

A left-sided centre-back is being targeted, while work may need to be done at both wing-back positions.

Wolves are still waiting on a decision from Nelson Semedo, who has a new four year contract on the table.

His current deal expires at the end of the month and the captain has already filmed a goodbye video on the Molineux pitch, which will be published by Wolves if Semedo signs for another team.

The 31-year-old is speaking to other clubs and assessing his options before making his final decision.
