Ducks all round for cricketers

Shropshire cricketer David Lloyd found the going tough on his First Class debut.

The Glamorgan batsman, who is a former Shrewsbury School pupil and has this season played for Wellington in the Birmingham League Premier Division, failed to score in either innings of his side's eight-wicket defeat LV County Championship at Yorkshire.

That capped part of a disappointing penultimate round of fixtures for Shropshire's players.

Shrewsbury allrounder Joe Leach claimed two wickets but scored nought and two with the bat as Worcestershire were soundly beaten by Warwickshire, allowing the Bears to clinch the County Championship title.

Newport's Dan Redfern has enjoyed an excellent season but also made a duck in promotion-chasing Derbyshire's clash with Kent. He had the chance to atone in the second innings today.
