Aston Villa player ratings: 5s and a 4 after Burnley draw
We rate the players after Villa are held to a 2-2 draw at Burnley.
EMI MARTINEZ
Should have done much better with the opener, which was parried straight out to Anthony. Dealt with everything else pretty well.
Sloppy: 6
MATTY CASH
Caught upfield for Burnley’s first and then culpable for the second when he lost the ball in a dangerous area. A disappointing display.
Error: 5
EZRI KONSA
An untimely slip presented Flemming with a glorious chance to make it 2-0. Back to his usual assured self after that.
Steady: 7
TYRONE MINGS
Caught on the ball by Hannibal in the early stages. Looked to have picked up a knock at the end. Has become shaky.
Erratic: 5
IAN MAATSEN
Given a torrid time by Loum Tchaouna in the early stages. Ran the ball out of play on the attack in the second half.
Poor: 4
VICTOR LINDELOF
Endured a rough start along with the rest of the Villa team, as he struggled to replicate the high of Forest. Improved in the second half.
Improved: 6
YOURI TIELEMANS
Tested Weiss with an effort in the first half. Provided a bit of composure in the middle of the park but not at his best.
Neat: 6
JOHN MCGINN
Missed a chance to win it when he headed wide at the far post. One of Villa’s better overall performers yet again.
Driving: 7
ROSS BARKLEY
Scored for the second time this season with a header from a corner. Tested Weiss with a shot from distance and saw two second half efforts blocked.
Energy: 7
MORGAN ROGERS
Great cross for the disallowed goal but otherwise frustrating. Seemed to pick the wrong option again and again in the second half.
Frustrating: 5
OLLIE WATKINS
Will feel he should have been the match winner after finishing smartly past Weiss for his 17th of the season. Denied earlier by VAR.
Goal: 7
SUBSTITUTES
Emi Buendia 6 (for Lindelof, 74), Lucas Digne 6 (for Maatsen, 74), Douglas Luiz (for Barkley, 80), Lamare Bogarde (for Cash, 80), Leon Bailey (for McGinn, 85) Subs not used: Torres, Abraham, Sancho, Bizot (gk).
