Rob Edwards has praised Wolves' mentality as they overcame harsh conditions to beat Grimsby in an old fashioned FA Cup showdown.

The Premier League club arrived at League Two venue Blundell Park to find wind, rain, freezing temperatures and a shredded mud bath of a pitch.

But Santi Bueno's second half finish was the difference and Edwards was pleased with how his side handled the potential banana skin of a fixture.

"It was a great game, quite an aggressive game," he said.

"It was an interesting game, really difficult conditions, really challenging conditions. Obviously for both teams, so it's the same for both of us.

"It was a different type of game, a bit of a throwback and one that really we could only win by winning and being professional and doing it right.
