Rob Edwards gives verdict on Angel Gomes' buy option at Wolves
Rob Edwards admits that Wolves will hold talks with Angel Gomes later in the season over the club's option to buy him permanently.
The England international made a deadline day switch on loan until the end of the season from French side Marseille, but Wolves hold a £6million option to buy him in the summer.
The Express & Star understands that option to buy is not dependent on Wolves staying up, with their relegation to the Championship likely, but that it would require some negotiation with the player if he was to stay.
When asked if A.Gomes was committed to staying at Wolves beyond this season, regardless of which division Wolves are in, Edwards was coy and said they would have to see how the player 'feels about the whole situation'.
"I think that's something that we'll deal with further down the line," the head coach said.
