Michael Appleton insists it is back to reality for Shrewsbury Town - and has called on his players to keep their foot on the accelerator as they look to extend their unbeaten run.

Salop made it five games unbeaten in all competitions last weekend with victory over non-league South Shields in the FA Cup.

They head to Crewe Alexandra on Saturday looking to continue their turnaround in form and make it six games unbeaten - which would be their longest run without a defeat for over two years.

For Appleton, is about seeing his side produce more of the same rather than the statistics.

He said: "It is good, their tails are high and confidence is good, but it is back to reality now.
