Interest cooled as Wolves set to keep striker
Newcastle United's interest in Jorgen Strand Larsen has cooled with Wolves set to keep their star striker.
The Magpies had two bids worth £50million and £55million rejected for the Norwegian, while they were also preparing a third bid of £60million.
But Wolves chairman Jeff Shi was adamant that the club would not sell Larsen this summer.
That stance seems to have paid off, with Newcastle now completing a deal for Brentford's Yoane Wissa, to join the recent signing of German attacker Nick Woltemade.
Larsen had agreed personal terms with Newcastle and informed Wolves of his desire to make the move, but the striker is set to stay.
He missed the defeat to Everton on Saturday with Vitor Pereira citing an Achilles issue.
Wolves have since added Tolu Arokodare to their ranks from Genk as another option up front and he is expected to rival Larsen for a place in the team.
