Wolves reject second bid for striker Jorgen Strand Larsen
Newcastle have returned with a second bid for Wolves' striker.
Wolves have rejected a £55million offer from Newcastle United for striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, the Express & Star understands.
The Magpies had a £50million bid turned down yesterday with Wolves adamant he is not for sale.
But after Larsen scored two goals in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, Newcastle returned with a second bid of £55million that was swiftly rejected.
Wolves remain insistent that he is not for sale, but Newcastle are keen to sign the Norwegian amid their striker shortage.
It is understood that Larsen is not pushing for a way out of Wolves, but that he has agreed personal terms with Newcastle if a transfer was to materialise.
Newcastle allowed Callum Wilson to leave on a free transfer earlier this summer and are at an impasse with Alexander Isak, who is refusing to train or play as he attempts to force through a move to Liverpool.
As a result, Newcastle are desperate for a striker signing and had Larsen among a number of options they were interested in, as exclusively revealed by the Express & Star in July.
