From bargain racing seats to luxury leather thrones, these home office chairs show how far you can push your setup if budget isn’t a concern

The perfect home office setup centres around a few things. A practical desk, perhaps some personal ornaments, and the most comfortable chair you can afford.

With dream mode fully enabled, and an imaginary unlimited budget, I've been flicking through the vast array of posh chairs at Office Furniture Online, which is a great resource for everything from commercial furniture to education equipment.

Their range of chairs starts at around £30, but if I was to win the lottery, I'd go straight for the expensive stuff.

The most expensive office chair you can buy from Office Furniture Online is this weird and wonderful "saddle chair", in a huge range of colours and with a choice of three sizes.

Priced at an eye-watering £1,455.60, it's designed to mimic a horse rider's seating position, which is great for movement and circulation and probably brilliant for posture, too.

But it's not for me. As a petrolhead, I was drawn to this bargain race-car chair, which is absurdly cheap at £134.40 - but why would I pick a bargain chair if I'd won the lottery?

If I wanted to max out my budget in a hurry, I could pick this Humanscale Freedom Task Chair, because it costs a rather frightening £1,305.60 thanks to its clever ergonomics - but it just doesn't look luxurious enough for me, I'm afraid.

If I want a home office befitting a lottery winner, I'm going for a leather executive chair. And there are dozens on the website.

The most expensive is this Boss Design Delphi at £1,698 - but I don't think it looks special enough.

I did have a good look at this lovely Chairman Traditional Manager Chair, which as a really classical look to it, but it's just not my style.

In the end, my chair of choice, would be this Windsor Leather Faced Manager Armchair. It's by no means the most expensive, at £432, but it looks so comfortable and I love the cream piping.

Grubby

Plant-based ready meals have come a long way from the bland reputation they once had, and services such as Grubby are leaning into meals that look more like comforting weeknight dinners than traditional ‘healthy eating’ options.
