Gwynedd Maldwyn Senedd Member Claire Johnson Wood vows to fight for the policies she was elected on

I am five months into my time as a Senedd Member for Gwynedd Maldwyn and what a few months it has been.

I was elected with a mandate of Reform UK and our manifesto includes ending the Welsh Government’s Nation of Sanctuary pet project, prioritising Welsh people for council homes, reducing NHS waiting lists, closing migrant hotels and stopping the expansion of Houses of Multiple Occupancy across Wales.

We also want to abolish the absurd 20MPH rule imposed by Welsh Labour supported by Plaid Cymru, upgrade the A55 in North Wales and accelerate improvements to the A470 and reform the Sustainable Farming Scheme to give farmers greater freedom over how they manage their land.

Reform UK were elected to the Senedd with these manifesto pledges front and centre of our campaign and we narrowly lost out and now sit as the official opposition.

In the following months Reform’s Senedd group have pushed against the cosy Cardiff Bay left wing establishment by raising the issue of migrant hotels, HMO’s, the nation of sanctuary and falling standards in the Welsh NHS and education system.

The reaction of Plaid Cymru, Labour and the Tory Senedd Members has been one of defiance against the voters who elected me.

They will do everything in their power to push through their big state, high tax high regulation economy propped up by mass immigration. I will be a constant voice against their disastrous ideology.

My Senedd office is soon to be established in Llanidloes and will be open to constituents across Gwynedd Maldwyn to come and seek advice, guidance and support.

I will continue to endeavour to fight for the policies I was elected on and to represent Reform UK across Gwynedd Maldwyn throughout my term as your elected Senedd Member.

Claire Johnson Wood MS

Senedd Member for Gwynedd Maldwyn
