THANKS TO ALL IN CLUB FUNDRAISER

The Rotary Club of Bridgnorth would like to thank the Star for articles before and after “The Up the Steps Walk”.

Thanks also to our walkers, marshals and supporters which kept the event safe and enjoyable for everyone on October 13.

The event raised £10,128 for good causes which included a range of local and national charities.

We intend to run “Steps” again next October, if you or your group are interested, contact me via the Rotary Club of Bridgnorth website.

CAUGHT OUT BY CITY BUS LANES

I'm not surprised at the bus lane fines by Wolverhampton Council. I was a victim a few years ago. Coming up Railway Street to use the station (road closed) no signs.

Buses queuing to the right, past The Grand Theatre, buses behind me blasting their horns; trying to force me across. Had no choice to go across the bus lane into Pipers Row, hence a fine off £80. No luck at appealing.

It does not take any brains to see why so many motorists are caught.

A few maybe try it on; but thousands are caught in 'entrapment', insufficient signs, confusing signs, confusing road layout. Inept road planning council officials.

Planning ahead if there are roadworks in future and where to divert motorists away from bus lanes.

Biggest question – are bus lanes needed at Pipers Row? Or just a money making spot for the council? Thousands of motorist can't be wrong.

BAD LEADERS ARE WASTING MONEY

It is absolutely wicked what the Prime Minister and Rachel Reeves are planning, don’t they know we have heard all this rubbish before, and paid dearly?

Our country is overcrowded, the borders – our borders, are not controlled.

It’s costing the earth – should this not be at the top of the list?

We are paying out to other countries and keeping illegal immigrants while we are struggling to keep our homes and heads above water.

Bad leaders again wasting money.

One thing for sure, this is not going to go down well.

We have had bad leaders before which have cost us dearly, but Starmer has to be top of the list.

We have to start fighting back.
