My post is just not turning up
I read about people living in Shifnal, Newport and Albrighton not receiving their post from Royal Mail.
I live in Woodside and I last received mail just before Christmas and it was nearly four weeks late. My daughter missed her invitation to Madeley Academy for an NVR assessment.
Luckily they had a second one but I've received no mail since whilst awaiting appointments for operations to have lumps removed and hearing aids fitted.

Not that keen on Trump Cup
I have been recently informed that the 2026 World Cup trophy is to be renamed The Donald Trump World Cup. I can't believe that, even taking into account the Donald Trump mentality and the fact that FIFA are to present Donald Trump with a peace award. Imagine the damage it would do if different FAs were to withdraw their teams in protest.

Licence fee is for owning a TV
Without wishing to enter into the BBC licence fee debate, historically, the fee was a television licence and like the radio licence (scrapped ages ago) it was a tax on owning a television or something that can do the same thing, whether or not it can receive BBC channels. But yes the 'tax' does fund the BBC...for better or worse depending on your view.
When viewed abroad, I think some BBC programmes are commercially sponsored.

I’m not a fan of Constipation St
In response to Alan Jones' "My lament for lost soul of Corrie Street." I fail to see what the problem is. I've never been a fan of any of the soaps except maybe Casualty.
I do remember one scene from Coronation Street, long before it became "Corrie". Ena Sharples walked into the Rovers Return and said; "Wie geht's Minnie?" (how are you Minnie?") I saw this in a bar in Berlin in 1970 and Coronation Street was dubbed into German.
My wife watches Constipation Street, Dummerdale and Deadenders as I call them. She's not amused.

Jenrick debacle
What a pantomime the Robert Jenrick defection turned into. Reform must now concentrate on policy.
