NEED TO CATCH THE VANDALS
A report in the Shropshire Star of 17 April, reported yet more vandalism – this time trees at Newport. If my memory serves me right, this is not the first time.
Public toilets is another facility which is regularly attacked and both Newport and Market Drayton have been hit. When the flower displays are put out shortly, some of those will be subjected to damage as is sometimes other new items put out for public pleasure or information. This is done by those who have nothing better to do than to spoil other people’ enjoyment or necessity. All of this comes at some cost to the local councils concerned.
Perhaps local councils should make use of CCTV to protect local facilities or to catch the culprits? Local councils should purchase a couple of suitable CCTV units which could be put out to protect items or places likely to be attacked. Toilets could have them covering the main door and new trees or planters might need a bit of ingenuity on where to place them – perhaps on the way of likely approach. Their presence could be advertised with notices – prevention being better than cure. Those in charge of prosecutions should have an almost for always rule that causing damage is prosecuted and compensation orders requested.

LETBY CASE IS VERY TROUBLING
The overwhelming opinion of paediatricians is that Lucy Letby did not murder any babies and that their deaths were attributable to natural causes or poor management by doctors or staff, other than the convicted lady.
Much as the grieving parents of the dead babies want Miss Letby to remain in jail for the rest of her life, this will not bring their loved ones back.
There needs to be a full judicial inquiry into the case, and if Lucy Letby did kill the babies, then she should stop in prison, but if she is innocent, then free her ASAP.
Thank God that we don’t have the death penalty, otherwise Letby would be dead, along with Ruth Ellis and Timothy Evans, the former suffering terrible abuse and post natal depression, and the latter completely innocent of any crime.

WE'LL GIVE VOTES FOR CAKE SUPPLY
Momentous news! Hold the front page, well maybe page 9, as the Common Sense Party officially decides to back Reform UK in the Local elections on 1 May. After detailed negotiations we have agreed to back them as long as Reform supply Aunt Dolly with cake mixture for five years and pay her to supply all cakes to be eaten at future meeting between us.
Once the deal was signed and freed from any political responsibility Uncle Norbert and I raced down to our local bookie, Spendmore, Bankrupt and Dosh to place bets that Reform UK will have the most seats in the new Shropshire Council.
