1. Weston, 1972
Picture carrying the date September 1972, showing Weston School. The caption reads: 'Pupils at Weston and Wixhill Church of England Primary School go to classes each day in a building certain to be steeped in architectural history. But very little is known about its background and the school governors and staff are trying to find out more with little success. It appears to have been built over 100 years ago by the land-owning family of Lord Hill.' | Picture: Richard Brock

2. Tong, 1959
Tong, May 1, 1959. May Day was celebrated in town and country, with these black and white cottages providing an ideal backdrop as local schoolchildren performed the traditional dance. | Shropshire Star

3. Claverley, c.1930s
Claverley village, likely 1930s. The scene shows the Crown Inn (kept by George Marsh) on the right, with its distinctive leaning chimney stack, and Claverley Church in the distance. The postcard was later franked in Stourbridge on August 28, 1942, carrying a personal message from Dennis to his father, joking about washing up and looking forward to being home on Sunday evening. It was addressed to T. Mackie Esq, 18 Oldfields Road, Sutton, Surrey, and is pictured courtesy of Bridgnorth postcard collector Ray Farlow. | Credit: Ray Farlow

4. Badger, 1961
A charming street scene in Badger village, showing thatched cottages and a peaceful rural landscape on 17 May 1961. | Shropshire Star
