49. Making a splash at the poolside prize presentation
Proud young swimmers show off their hard-earned medals following a gala held at Bridgnorth Leisure Centre in September 1978. Members of Highley Swimming Club, which was formed in 1974, braved outdoor summer training at their local pool to take on clubs from across the region, including Wolverhampton, Worcester, and Bilston. Shared by former coach John Martin, who led the group for 15 years, this archive picture offers a wonderful look back at a dedicated team of local athletes. Do you spot yourself or any familiar faces lining the poolside with their gala medals? | Picture courtesy of John Martin
