6. Wellington, 1975
A giant load squeezes through Wellington in 1975. This 96-ton crane section, transported by Wrekin Roadways, passes the Cock Hotel crossroads on its way from Horsehay to Brierley Hill. A familiar sight in the background is H Sutch’s bicycle shop, selling Raleigh bikes. Do you remember this corner of town? | Shropshire Star archive

7. Claverley, 1975
It was a match neither player was expecting. In September 1975, Claverley women Mrs Joyce Newman and Miss Tina Brown swapped tennis rackets for a hosepipe after spotting flames at the old hall beside the courts. Can you remember this part of the village? | Shropshire Star archive

8. Dale Turkeys, Ludlow, 1975
South Shropshire had its very own world champion in 1975 - and it was a turkey! Chukie, bred by Dale Turkeys in Caynham, Ludlow, broke records after weighing 71lb 12oz and was later sold for charity. Can you remember seeing this unusual Christmas story? | Shropshire Star archive
