17. Ludlow, 1969
A nostalgia picture from Ludlow, dated October 1969, shows East Hamlet Hospital during the first £250,000 phase of its redevelopment, which was beginning to change the town’s skyline. Pictured are Nurse G Lucas and Staff Nurse M Capper walking past the new geriatric ward under construction, which was set to accommodate 66 patients. The hospital itself had evolved from the town’s former workhouse. | Shropshire Star
