37. Shropshire Constabulary, 1967
A moment of change for policing in Shropshire, captured in September 1967. These were the last five recruits to join Shropshire Constabulary before it became part of the new West Mercia force just a week later. Pictured with Inspector Peter Evanson are Brian Ball, John Windsor, Michael Owen, David Love and William Steventon. A photograph marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another - do you remember the days of Shropshire Constabulary, or recognise any of the officers who served their communities? | Shropshire Star archive

38. Trench, 1967
A wonderfully quirky sight from November 1967 as a BMW Isetta bubble car is led away to its new home. New owner Mr John Joseph Brookes, of Trench, arranged for the tiny vehicle to be collected after buying it from Mr Ray Maslin, of Wellington. Once seen as an ingenious answer to motoring on a budget, the bubble car has since become a much-loved classic. Do you remember spotting Isettas on Shropshire’s roads, or have memories of these distinctive little cars turning heads wherever they went? | Shropshire Star archive

39. Boningale Fair, Albrighton, 1967
A day of fun, friendly competition and fundraising at Boningale Fair in June 1967, where driving tractors and even smashing pianos were among the unusual attractions! Held opposite The Horns Inn, the annual fair brought the community together to raise money for local charities, with the ever-popular tractor trials providing the day's biggest spectacle. It’s a wonderful reminder of the wonderfully eccentric village events that drew crowds from miles around. Were you there, or do you remember fairs where almost anything could happen? | Shropshire Star archive

40. Dawley High Street, 1967
Dawley High Street was undergoing a facelift in April 1967 as resurfacing works transformed one of the town's busiest roads. While the disruption sparked plenty of debate at the time, the scene now offers a fascinating snapshot of a town adapting to change. Do you remember the roadworks, the shops that lined the High Street, or how Dawley looked before the arrival of Telford New Town? | Shropshire Star archive
