You know what it’s like, you look through some old family pictures and you come across some where you don’t recognise the people, the location is unfamiliar, and the occasion is a mystery.
It’s the same for us. Sometimes the original information with the photos is lost, or we have been sent them in the hope that someone, somewhere, can solve the riddle or come up with some information.
Our readers are always the best detectives, so examine the evidence in these images and see if you can spot any clues that might help put the pieces of the puzzle together. Let us know what you discover in the comments.
And no, this isn’t some sort of test where we give the answers at the end. We really don’t know.

5. Cattle in the street
This wonderful old picture was unearthed years ago by Mrs Lillian Bradley, of Chelmarsh, when she was searching through some belongings of her late father, Richard Wellings, whose family came from the Deuxhill area. But neither she nor her daughter Eileen had any idea where the picture was taken, or who it featured. | Lillian Bradley

6. Pool the other one
It's got the Wellington Journal & Shrewsbury News stamp, has the name of Bryan Davies of Dawley on the back - Bryan may have sent it in - and had a sticker with "Pool" written on. Pool Hill School in Dawley, then? Trouble is, it looks nothing like it. The date is perhaps the late 1950s. | Wellington Journal

7. Victorian christening
We were sent this by David Morris, from Calgary, Canada, in 2012. He told us it was a late Victorian christening photo rescued from the home of his aunt, Evelyn Hughes, in Ellesmere, and he was hoping that somebody could recognise the building or the people. He said if the christening was that of his grandmother, Katherine (Kate) Elizabeth Trelfa, the date would be 1883 or 1884. | David Morris

8. Hall or nothing
A 1940s cine film made by Norman Duxbury of Bury when he visited relatives showed an unidentified farm in the Hodnet or Marchamley area, and this hall. This is a postcard of the hall that featured. | Norman Duxbury
