'You see cars weaving, sometimes quite violently' - Calls for 'dangerous' road riddled with potholes near Bridgnorth to be resurfaced
Bosses at a Shropshire wedding venue and restaurant have called for a "dangerous" road to be totally resurfaced and have described "scary" experiences for themselves and visitors.
Stuart Phillips, managing partner at the Hundred House near Bridgnorth, says he fears being tipped off his motorbike when riding along the A442 Bridgnorth Road due to several large and deep potholes.
The stretch of road between Sutton Maddock and Bridgnorth has already seen numerous repairs and potholes filled in.
Driving along the road, motorists can see countless patches and strips where hazards have been removed.

However, the busy road remains riddled with large potholes that Stuart says drivers must "swerve" to avoid.
The Hundred House's executive chef told how some recent visitors to the popular wedding venue have faced hefty bills to fix their car and have had to have tyres replaced after hitting one of the large potholes.
He added that a damaged car was parked up in a bus stop outside the award-winning restaurant in Norton last weekend, and described the busy A-road as "dangerous".
"I come to work along the A442 every day and you see cars weaving in and out, sometimes quite violently," Stuart said. "If they see the pothole at the last moment then you see them suddenly swerve and it can be a bit scary.

"Recently we had a wedding couple come for a meeting with us, they left and then about 20 minutes later they gave us a call and punctured their tyre between here and the Shell garage [on the A442 near Sutton Maddock] that is about a mile down the road. We had to help them out.
"[Last weekend] in the bus stop, there was a car with a shattered tyre, once again, and I have actually lost two tyres myself on my car to potholes.
"It is when you don’t see them at night, and when they are very deep they swallow the whole wheel.
"I ride a motorbike and if I was to hit one then I would definitely be off the bike.

"We never used to have this problem at all. You especially notice it on a motorbike. It is getting worse and worse and seems more extreme now."
Mr Phillips said several potholes on the road have been repaired in the last month - but he believes the whole stretch of road needs to be resurfaced.
"That would be the ideal and heavenly idea, to resurface the lot," he added. "It is a very well used road so it is getting a good beating."

The 60-year-old added: "I do see them filling them in, but they don’t seem to make a very good job of it.
"Maybe they should look at who is filling them and how good of a job they are doing and that would speed up the filling process."
Council contractors were again out over the weekend doing 'emergency repairs' to the A442 after a number of vehicles were disabled by potholes - but Mr Philips says he believes these will only be temporary fixes.
“A car on Saturday limped into the hotel with a flat tyre. They were there four hours before they managed to get an emergency spare.
“The council come out all the time and fill them but a few weeks later the road ends up just as bad – I would love to know how much it costs to keep coming out to fill them in as it can't be very economical.”
