Plans for new parking restrictions on roads around popular Shropshire landmark after concerns raised
Highways officers have also proposed that part of the side of the road be turned into a layby with free parking
A set of proposals have been drawn up in response to concerns about parking near The Wrekin.
Telford & Wrekin Council officials have set out plans to introduce a set of parking restrictions in roads around the landmark hill near Wellington.
Highways officers have also proposed that part of the side of the road in Cluddley Lane be turned into a layby with free parking.
Close to the Forest Glen car park, it is already in a section of road where drivers park close to the start of the Wrekin Trail, which leads to the top of the 1,335ft landmark.
The proposed order introduces extended new waiting and loading restrictions on the roads around the hill.
Officials wrote that the changes have been "developed in response to concerns regarding parking around The Wrekin”.
They added that the new traffic regulation order is for the purposes of road safety, preventing damage, preventing congestion and improving traffic flow and to preserve the character and/or amenity of the public realm.
An online consultation is set to run until July 17.
