We joined England fans at Shrewsbury pub for 2026 World Cup match against Ghana

England took on Ghana in their second 2026 World Cup match on Tuesday (June 23)

With goals from Stourbridge’s own Jude Bellingham, Marcus Rashford and Harry Kane - who has now matched Gary Lineker’s record of 10 World Cup goals for England - fans are hoping the success continues. Many consider this their best chance to go all the way since their one and only previous World Cup triumph, at home in 1966.

And on Tuesday the Three Lions took on Ghana in their second match, after coming into the tournament as one of the favourites.

Millions of people across the country tuned in, but with the time difference to host nations the United States, Mexico and Canada, kick-off times aren’t too friendly for those of us watching from the UK - especially on a week night when many have work the next day!

But that hasn’t got in the way of some fans joining in the action from their local pub - we joined them at The Salopian in Shrewsbury for the game.
