Turkish takeaway and convenience store planned for former solicitor's office in Shrewsbury
The businesses would create around six new jobs according to the plans
Plans to turn a former solicitor’s office into a convenience store and hot food takeaway have been revealed.
An application has been submitted to Shropshire Council for permission to turn the former home of Hatchers Solicitors on Harlescott Lane in Shrewsbury into a shop and takeaway.
The proposed Turkish cuisine takeaway would operate between 10am and midnight, seven days a week, while the store would be open between 9am and 10pm.
Documents submitted with the application stated that the new businesses would create around six new jobs.

The application also stated that the development “will not affect the current daytime limited parking” because the takeaway is aimed at customers already visiting nearby retailers such as Tesco and Aldi.
Plans include installing a new cooking extraction system, with the flue designed to match existing units to “keep appearance uniform”.
The applicants said new windows and doors would also be fitted, to bring the frontage in line with neighbouring shops, and replace defective timber panels.
The statement added that access for emergency and service vehicles would be unchanged, and that the building’s flat layout keeps level changes to a minimum, allowing easier access for disabled customers.
A public consultation on the plans is open until Wednesday, June 17.
The full application is available to view online on Shropshire Council’s planning portal using reference number 26/01802/FUL.
