Star Witness winner: Fine and dandy picture triumphs

Laura is a 19-year-old student from The Meadows in Lawley Village, Telford.

She took the photograph in a wood and field near to her home that she visits regularly.

Laura said: "I have been going there since I was little and it has great views and wildlife to photograph."

Laura used a Canon EOS 1200D camera to take the lovely photograph of the dandelion.

She said: "I came across the dandelion which still had a full head of seeds and thought it would make a nice image.

"When finally reviewing my images I really liked the detail that could be seen within the subject, that's what encouraged me to send it in."

Laura is in her first year studying photography at Wolverhampton University.

She said: "I'm so happy. I am currently studying photography and my goal is to have a career as a photographer."

Laura plans to save the £100 she has won to invest it in a new camera, so she can take more eye-catching photos.

She said: "I don't think I had the confidence to believe I could win but this has really boosted that."
