One of Telford & Wrekin Council's top officers has resigned today - just two weeks after returning to her desk following a three-month suspension.
Christine Davies was corporate director for children and young people's services. Mrs Davies, who received a CBE for her work with children's services, was suspended in September. She returned to her job on January 3.
But today, Mrs Davies and the council's new chief executive Steve Wellings announced her resignation. Mrs Davies said she was looking forward to taking up "opportunities nationally".
