Snooker world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan swapped his cue for darts as he helped raise money for Help for Heroes in Telford Town centre.
The four-time world champion took up the arrows in a charity challenge to mark to opening of the new Money Shop.
O'Sullivan, who was playing alongside darts stars James Wade and Simon Whitlock, had the score of his nine darts doubled and turned into pounds as the competition raised £1,240.
The snooker star, nicknamed the Rocket, recently announced a break from the sport and fans flocked to get a chance to see him.
O'Sullivan said: "I did not want to take a break, but things weren't right and needed to be sorted out. I don't expect it to be sorted overnight. My manager is dealing with certain stuff to make it possible for me to come back and play but I haven't made my mind up yet."
More than 100 people queued up to get the chance to meet O'Sullivan and have their picture taken with him.
The star said he was glad to be back in Telford, where he won the last of his four UK Open titles in 2008, when he made friends with Telford Running Club.
He said: "I was gutted to see the UK Championship move from here because it was always good here. I made so many good friends down here through Telford Running Club and I used to come down here when I wasn't playing because there's some really nice runs in the area, especially around the Wrekin."
