Car ploughs into lamppost in Shropshire crash
A road was closed after a car ploughed into a lamppost in Shropshire.
A Vauxhall Astra careered off Wellington Road, near the Red House pub in Lilleshall.
The crash left the lamppost leaning to one side but no-one was injured.
Chris Ammonds, a spokesman for West Mercia Police, said: "There was significant damage to the lamppost and the road was closed while recovery work took place."
Emily Knightley, a spokeswoman for Telford & Wrekin Council, said: "We go out to the scene, as we did in this case, to make sure that it is safe.
"Any remedial work will take place as soon as possible."
West Midlands Ambulance Service was not called after the accident at about 1.30pm yesterday.
