Father hits out after son escapes serious injury evading car dodging huge pothole on Shropshire B-road
A father has hit out after his son was involved in a serious car crash when he was forced to evade an oncoming vehicle which was dodging a giant pothole.
John Titlow has told how his son's vehicle was left on its side having narrowly avoided the catastrophic consequences of hitting a tree head on.
The incident took place on the B4194 at Clogs Bank, near Button Oak, on the south Shropshire border, on Thursday, January 29.
Mr Titlow's 22-year-old son, Lawrence, was travelling northwest on the route.

As he went around a bend a car crossed the central line to avoid a pothole on the inside of the corner - and the two traffic cones which were placed there to warn drivers of the dangerous hole.
Faced with an oncoming vehicle, he took evasive action, forcing him onto the mud and verge.

As he moved back onto the tarmac he lost control, ending up crashing into the wooded area alongside the route.
Mr Titlow said his son had been incredibly fortunate to escape serious injury, in what had been a terrifying crash.

He said the pothole had been in place without being fixed for "around a month".
Mr Titlow said: "With that pothole there, people are coming down and at the last minute they are swerving over to avoid it - and then you are in a dangerous situation."
The shocked father said that it had been a "frightening" incident, and that Lawrence had also been "fortunate nothing was coming the other way".
Mr Titlow said the incident was an example of the potential ramifications of not fixing potholes.
He said: "There are very serious consequences. He could have been badly injured."
He added: "You do not leave something like that on a dangerous bend for a month."
