Two injured in lorry collision near Shrewsbury

Two people were injured, including a woman who had to be cut free from a vehicle, in a crash between a car and a lorry in Shropshire.
The smash happened just after 9am yesterday at the crossroads of the B4394 road at Wroxeter and Uckington, near Shrewsbury. The road was closed in both directions for more than an hour.
A red Nissan Micra, being driven by a man and carrying a woman passenger, collided with the back of a lorry owned by building merchants Travis Perkins.
Fire crews cut the woman free from the wreckage before she and the car driver were taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital with minor injuries.

Steve Parry, a spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We sent one ambulance to the scene of a collision at 9.20am involving two vehicles on the B4394 junction at Wroxeter and Uckington.
"We dealt with two patients, both of whom had minor injuries and were taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for further treatment."
Richard Ewels, a spokesman for West Mercia Police, said: "The woman passenger had to be cut free. The two injured people were travelling in a Nissan Micra while the other vehicle was a DAF lorry.
"The road was blocked for a short time while the incident was ongoing and the car was recovered but it was dealt with very swiftly."
