As the fate of Shropshire's two biggest football clubs is set to be sealed this afternoon, sibling rivalry has reached an all-time high in one household.

Michael Evans, 19, supports AFC Telford United , while his brother Cameron Evans, 16, is a fan of Shrewsbury Town.

With The Bucks on the up and Town on the down the brothers from could find their teams separated by just one division by the time the final whistle has sounded.

Things could get heated in their home in Heatherdale, Leegomery, depending on the outcome of today's games.

"It's pretty tense in the house right now," said Michael, who works at McDonalds on Wrekin Retail Park.

Telford face rivals Gainsborough Trinity and a win will see them promoted back to the top flight of non league football.

If the Bucks emerge victorious they will be crowned Skrill North champions and secure an immediate return to the Conference premier – one division below the Football League.

The fan-owned club is chasing an instant return to the Conference after being relegated last year.

Meanwhile Shrewsbury play host to Peterborough United in their last home game of a difficult campaign.

Town's relegation to League Two will be confirmed if they fail to beat their play-off chasing rivals. The team are six points from safety with two games to go and even back-to-back wins for the first time may not be enough to save them from the drop.

Michael said: "Cameron's not happy but I am. My dad supports Shrewsbury but my grandad supports Telford and we're doing better than them."

The brother's grandfather Paul Booth is a former director of AFC Telford.
