Rubbish and remnants of fire left behind as travellers leave Shrewsbury park and ride site
Rubbish and remnants of a fire left have been left behind after travellers vacated a park and ride site in Shrewsbury.

The group, with six caravans, pitched up at Meole Brace Park and Ride in Shrewsbury last Tuesday and were given an eviction notice ordering them away by 3pm on Friday last week.
But despite this, the group did not leave the site until Monday, September 4.

A trolley with plastic bottles and paper was pictured on the park and ride site on Monday and there were remnants of a fire under a CCTV lamppost, where the camera appears to be broken.
In the adjacent woodland area and bushes, plastic bags can be seen filled with leaves and rubbish, as well as discarded items such as a deck chair and wiring. However it is unclear what may or may not have been left by the group.

A spokesperson for Shropshire Council said: "We’re aware of the flytipping at Meole Brace park and ride site and our contractors will be clearing it shortly."
