Temporary lights are seeing long tailbacks around Montford Bridge

‘Severe delays’ have been reported by commuters heading into Shrewsbury as road works and temporary lights led to long tailbacks during Tuesday morning rush hour.

Temporary lights on the A5 Holyhead Road saw queues of up 20 minutes, the AA reported, on Tuesday morning both ways at Shrawardine Turn.

The lights are due to Severm Trent works which are set to finish on April 1.
