Two months of road closures ahead for surface dressing scheme on A-road near Oswestry

The work will be carried out in four phases between April and June

An A-road near Oswestry will face a series of closures as part of work to improve Shropshire’s road network.

The A495 between Ellesmere and Whittington will undergo surface dressing from April 8 to June 1, with a series of weekday and weekend closures planned.

The work will be carried out in four phases: stud removal on April 8 and 9, surface dressing between May 7 and May 9, a ‘surface seal’ on May 20 and 21 May, and white lining from May 26 to 29 and on June 1.

Closures will run from 9.30am to 4pm on weekdays, and 6am to 6pm at weekends.

Access will be maintained for residents, businesses and emergency services, with diversions in place for all other traffic.

Shropshire Council said the work is part of a wider surface dressing programme covering more than 70 roads this year.
