Rail disruption hits West Midlands after points failure
Commuters are urged to plan ahead
Passengers across the West Midlands are facing delays and disruption this morning after a points failure between Dorridge railway station and Claverdon railway station.
The fault, which affects track switching equipment on the line, has led to several routes being blocked. As a result, trains running through key stations in the region are either delayed, cancelled, or diverted at short notice.
Services impacted include those passing through major West Midlands stations such as Birmingham Moor Street railway station and Solihull railway station, with knock-on effects expected across the wider network.
Rail operators have warned passengers to allow extra time for their journeys and to check for updates before travelling. Engineers are currently working to fix the issue, but no estimate has yet been given for when normal service will resume.
