£1,500 for Telford junior school's library revamp
2026 is the National Year of Reading
A Telford junior school's library is being revitalised to give children access to the "very best" books.
A council contribution of £1,500 has been signed off to support the restoration of the library at Donnington Wood Church of England Junior School.

Councillor Ollie Vickers (Labour, Donnington) told a cabinet meeting last week that the money from the Councillors' Pride Fund will "make sure the children at that school have a good and proper library that they can access new, up-to-date books”.
The Councillors' Pride Fund has also seen money supporting the Donnington Friends of Severn Hospice taking local residents for a day out in Blackpool.
Grit bins, festive activities and next month's Christmas lights switch-on have also been supported in Donnington.
After the meeting Councillor Vickers said that as 2026 is the National Year of Reading, it was an ideal opportunity to create a lasting legacy for the children of Donnington Wood.
As well as new books the library is being revamped to "create somewhere children actively look forward to visiting.
"Children in Donnington should be able to have access to the very best resources as that is what they deserve, and that's why I've supported the school with securing this funding for a library," he said.
