New member with 'strong application' co-opted onto Llandrindod Wells Town Council
A new member has been co-opted onto Llandrindod Wells Town Council.
The council currently has seven vacancies across several wards but at July's meeting, a resident came forward and applied to join the council.
Hayley Seyffert filled in an application form which was considered by members.
Llandrindod Wells Mayor Councillor Steve Deeks-D'Silva said the council is not allowed to interview applicants but they ususally ask them to give a three minute presentation.
But he said Ms Seyffert had been called into a meeting at work and so could not attend the meeting.
He proposed members read her application form which he said was 'one of the strongest he has seen for a long time.”
Deputy Mayor Councillor Kim Nicholls said: “I think its a really strong application and I would be very happy to accept it.”
Other members also unanimously agreed to co-opt Ms Seyffret onto the council.
She will be asked to attend an induction before formally joining the council at its next meeting.
