Police update after Mid Wales crash closed road to Shrewsbury for hours
No arrests - one in hospital
One person was taken to hospital following a two-vehicle crash on the A458 between Middletown and Welshpool on Thursday.
Dyfed-Powys Police said officers were called to the crash at around 3.40pm. A spokesperson confirmed one person required further medical treatment in hospital.
The road was closed while emergency services attended and both vehicles were recovered. It reopened at around 7.30pm.
The closure also affected the A458 across the border in Shropshire, between the A5 near Shrewsbury and the Welsh border. National Highways West Midlands said the route remained shut for several hours before fully reopening to traffic at around 9pm on Thursday evening.
No arrests have been reported in connection with the collision.
