Police called in after cows found roaming Telford street

The cows were eventually reunited with their owner

Police were called to a residential area of Telford after a herd of cows were found grazing the street’s front gardens.

Officers from Telford’s South Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) were called to Catherton in Stirchley on the morning of Wednesday, October 14, following reports of some unexpected bovine visitors.

Several cows had found their way into the area, with photographs showing the small herd comfortably grazing in one resident’s front garden.

With the help of local residents, police were able to track down the owner, and a local farmer attended to collect the cows.

Posting on social media, officers thanked everyone who had helped resolve the unusual incident.

The light-hearted post celebrated the successful outcome, with officers joking that the operation proved there was “no need to have beef” when the community and police work together.
