I found this lovely pub packed with tradition and great beer that's perfect for a trip from Shropshire
It’s a village pub which combines a traditional pub look with great beer from one of the Black Country’s best to provide a very cosy experience.
The village of Kinver which benefits from its surroundings and community to feel like a place you want to visit.
Surrounded on all sides by countryside, woodland and with Kinver Edge and the Rock Houses, the village is a place with an idyllic look and feel to it.
It also has six pubs spread along its high street, providing a plethora of choice for people wanting a pint and a place to meet friends, and all work hard to entice people in and become their local.

One pub which has made itself a desirable place for pub lovers is the Plough & Harrow, situated at the end of the High Street and hard to miss with its distinctive frontage.
The pub is owned and run by Bathams Brewery and is one of the eight original Bathams pubs, affectionately nicknamed 'Steps', and described as a characterful, traditional, community pub.
A walk inside the mustard-coloured pub takes people past the distinctive Bathams logo and cow and into a warm and comfortable pub which is split into two sections, with the front bar having tiled flooring, leather coated seats with tables and several high chairs near the bar.

The lounge area has a slightly more modern feel to it, with a carpeted floor, more chairs and tables and a TV on the wall, as well as a larger bar area.
The Plough & Harrow is currently managed by Nicky Howells, who said she had been at the pub for three years, having worked in the pub trade since she was 16, and had been interested in running the pub when it became available.
She said: “I was working in the New Inn, which is another Bathams’s pub in Wordsley, and this one came up with management and I just thought this was a nice country pub with nice locals.

“When I started, I didn’t try to change too much and only really tried to calm it down a little bit and make it more of a locals pub.
“I though it had a lot of potential though and it was only the nights which were quite off at times as it was full of younger and louder people, so I’ve worked to try and make it more welcoming and take it back to traditional values.”
Ms Howells said that since she had taken over, she had been told by a lot of people that the pub felt different and a lot more welcoming, as well as finding that there were a lot of new faces, as well as people who had not been in the pub for years.

She said: “It’s gotten busier over the years and it’s still getting busier, which is funny as I thought it would have calmed down by now, but we keep getting boosts.
“I think a lot of that has to do with Kinver as it’s got a good name to it and people want to come and see it and see our pub.”
Being a Bathams pub, the ales on the hand pulls are the famous Mild Ale and Best Bitter, while the pubs also provides a selection of lagers and ciders for people wanting something different, with San Miguel a favourite, and a spirit selection with favourites like Gordon’s Gin and Bell’s Whisky.

For people wanting something to eat, the pub provides a range of cobs, including cheese and onion, beef, turkey and stuffing and chicken tikka, as well as a selection of pork pies, scotch eggs and sausage rolls in different flavours.
Ms Howells said the Plough & Harrow was a warm and welcoming place for all, saying: “It’s a lovely pub, to be honest, with lovely locals, dog friendly and just a really nice place where everyone looks after each other.”
