Plans to demolish Shropshire hospital buildings and other applications

Plans have been submitted to demolish the former nurses’ accommodation buildings at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

If approved, it will allow for the reconfiguration of the site to provide additional hospital staff and contractor parking.

A full planning application seeking permission for the change of the use for car parking is due to be submitted.

Submitting a letter on behalf of the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH), Tracy Awanyo, of Nexus Planning, said the proposal forms part of the Trust’s ongoing programme of estate improvements and will make more efficient use of previously developed land within the hospital campus.

The full plans can be viewed by searching for application 26/027/30/DEM via Shropshire Council’s planning portal.
