Parking restrictions proposed amid safety concerns around historic bridge over River Severn

It's hoped new double yellow lines will help address road safety issues around a historic bridge over the River Severn.

Shropshire Council is proposing 'no waiting at any time' restrictions on three roads near Atcham Bridge on the B4380.

The change would see double yellow lines installed on the access road leading to St Eata's Parish Church, Bogey Lane, Linley Terrace and Malthouse Lane.

The consultation documents state: "The proposed parking restrictions are intended to address road safety/parking issues by preserving visibility, providing an improved flow of traffic and safer access for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists wishing to use the amenities of the area."

Documents relating to the consultation, which is open until February 27, can be viewed at Bayston Hill Library during regular opening hours.

Alternatively, copies may be requested by emailing [email protected], by writing to: Traffic Engineering Team, Guildhall, Frankwell, Shrewsbury, or by calling 0345 678 9077.

Those wishing to raise an objection, express support, or make any other comments about these proposals are asked to email or write to the addresses above as objections cannot be accepted over the phone.
