Oswestry Library will close later this month to allow its revamp to be completed, council chiefs said today.
It will be shut from June 23 so that the 30,000 books as well as furniture and equipment can be transferred into a new purpose-built extension.
It is anticipated that it will reopen on August 26.
There will be a temporary service available in the library garage allowing customers to borrow and return books, DVDs, CDs and talking books.
It will be open from 10am to 4pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
