Developer requests permission for six-home development near Oswestry
A developer has applied for permission to build six homes on the outskirts of a Shropshire town.
Primoris Homes has requested planning permission for the development at Park Hall, near Oswestry.
The site for the homes is an unused space off Agnes Hunt Drive, which was previously used as a compound for developers building an existing nearby housing development.
The application explains that the land had been proposed for housing development as part of Shropshire's emerging local plan, which was withdrawn earlier this year.
A design and access statement said: "The site is currently unused, consisting of land in part laid to grass and bound by hedgerows and in part previously used as a developers compound for the adjacent housing development.
"In the draft Shropshire Local plan 2016-2038 the land had been identified for housing development along with land to the north."
The statement explains how the development would be accessed by a single road off Agnes Hunt Drive.
It states: "The dwellings would be served by a single estate road grouped around an area of open space.
"All properties are set back from the road with two parking spaces in front of the dwellings and a single detached garage to the side.
"The development consists of six detached four bedroom two storey properties, traditional in design, with brick elevations and tile or slate roofs.
"The properties front an area of open space centred on a mature Ash tree which is retained and will form a focal point to the development."
A decision on the proposal will be taken at a later date.
